Firefox 3.6's CSS Font-Stretch Support
For a brief history of font-stretch I would recommend reading an article by Mr Richard Rutter: Whatever happened to font-strech?. Playing with Firefox 3.6 it would seem some support for font-stretch has been introduced though. My problem lies however, with how it deals with font’s that are missing the required ‘stretch’.
Having read through a number of the bugs in the Mozilla and WebKit bug...

Don’t Tell Me, Show Me!
Over on Malarkey’s blog Relly is currently doing a series on posts on how to write copy to convert your audience in to customers. After reading her posts I thought I would chime in with some badly written copy that has been written to target the wrong audience.

Previewing Short URL’s
The instructions in how to do this are written for OS X but should translate fine on to any other operating system
With the rise in short url services the internet (but mainly twitter) is becoming a spammers dream. They can now create a URL that comes from a website you trust tinyurl.com, is.gd, bit.ly, j.mp, tr.im, etc. and takes you to myspamsite.com. The first url shortener that really gained...

HTML 5 Offline Data Storage and the iPhone
HTML 5 comes with two ways for developers to keep data on a users machine to speed up data delivery. These are offline file caching and client-side databases. Both of these features have been implemented on the iPhone and are available for developers to speed up page loads and create better browsing experiences.
Offline caching in particular is extremely easy to implement and can vastly improve...

Apache 2 module which exposes ImageMagick as a URL-driven service, allowing you to request an image from a whitelisted host server and resize, thumbnail or alter the quality of it.
This looks like it could be really useful for creating photo galleries or image hosting services. I know I have written and used several php functions to do the job that this does using almost the same arguments.

Following on from industry leading peers such as Jason Santa Maria and Ryan Simms, I’m designing each individual item that I publish.
In theory, each entry will subsequently be more engaging and digestible, being designed in a way that suits the content. But I’m mostly doing this as a means of creative release. The way I see it, creativity is like a big pair of bollocks, and regular releases...
